Pentagon threatens radioactive wasteland in Kosovo

Pentagon stepped up its war crimes against the people of Yugoslavia with its decision to use A-10 "Warthog" jets and "Apache" helicopters in Kosovo that fire shells using depleted uranium, a radioactive ammunition.

The Warthog is a low-flying, slow-moving plane often referred to as a tank buster. It carries GAU-8/A Avenger seven-barrel cannons capable of firing 4,200 rounds of 30-millimeter shells per minute.

Depleted uranium (DU) is a radioactive and toxic metal that is almost twice as dense as lead.
